Starved Rock Lodge & Conference Center

Utica, Illinois
Starved Rock Lodge, located near Utica, Illinois, is nestled in the middle of scenic Starved Rock State Park. Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, the lodge is a unique, architectural masterpiece. The park, with its deep canyons, seasonal waterfalls, stunning bluff vistas and 13 miles of hiking trails, is a National Historic Landmark attracting more than two million visitors per year.
The lodge’s Tribute to the Stars series of musical performances expands to 54 scheduled shows for 2017. The talented singers/performers will take you down memory lane with their renditions of famous hits by Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Dean Martin and others. Lunch or dinner is included in the ticket price.

Trolleys play an important role in the tours offered by Starved Rock Lodge, providing a comfortable way to go on Bald Eagle Trolley Tours during the winter months and Waterfall & Canyon Tours in the spring. New for 2017 are two add-on tours available to any group booking for a show, tour or event. The first add-on is a walking tour of the historic lodge and the second is a “Visit a Canyon Tour,” which includes a trolley ride and a hike to see Council Overhang and Ottawa Canyon. Summer months bring land and water cruises aboard the Belle of the Rock paddlewheel boat, offering guests a slow-paced view of the forests and wildlife along the Illinois River. Fall Colors Trolley Tours give visitors an up-close look at the autumn palette of color set against the sandstone and limestone rock formations, which compose this unexpected natural wonder. Historic Trolley Tours give first-time visitors the perfect way to learn the rich history of the Starved Rock area upon their arrival. The lodge also offers year-round guided hikes (4 miles round trip) for adventure seekers (lunch is included).

Starved Rock Lodge has comfortable guest rooms, an indoor pool complex with a hot tub and saunas as well as cabins in the woods. An overnight stay enhances the overall experience of a visit to Starved Rock, making it more than a day trip – it’s a lasting memory. The lodge’s atmosphere of yesteryear makes for a restful, relaxing getaway.
