Fargo, North Dakota
Located just off I-29 interstate, Fargo Air Museum is an easily accessed, must-stop location. North Dakota’s premier aviation destination, the Fargo Air Museum’s dual hangars house aircraft of all eras – from a modern drone to the “most accurate recreation of a Wright Brothers’ flyer the Smithsonian Institute has ever seen.”
In addition to housing civilian and military aircraft, Fargo Air Museum is a longtime supporter of service people from all branches and eras. The museum hosts a complimentary coffee and donut social every second Wednesday monthly from 10 a.m.-noon at no charge to veterans. More often than not, members of various area military assistance programs are in attendance, spreading knowledge & support to visiting veterans.
Many of the museum’s volunteers, tour guides and board members are former military, all of whom bring with them unique insights and experiences. Often times, their first-hand accounts of time in service with the some of the museum aircraft are visitors’ favorite part of the tour.
The Fargo Air Museum welcomes bus tours with one week’s prior notice for a guided tour; large groups may be divided into smaller groups to provide an even better experience. Plan at least 60 minutes for a guided tour and additional time if guests would like to explore further. Bus tour guest admission is discounted to $5 per person, payable by tour planner/group leader in one-time, lump-sum transaction the day of the tour. One free bus driver admission is included.
Fargo Air Museum’s gift shop offers a 10-percent discount to our tour guests. Cash and credit cards are accepted. Buses may unload passengers at the front door, and free designated parking is provided in the southeast corner of the parking lot.
There is no on-site dining, though sack lunches are welcome and a dining area will be provided if requested in advance. There are also many close dining and fast food options in the area, several within walking distance. Fargo Air Museum also has become an area favorite for weddings and private or corporate medium to large event hosting, which could be held in conjunction tour stops; please inquire for availability.
