The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum at Texas A&M University is a premier destination for seniors, students and families alike. The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum is part of the National Archives and Records Administration’s Presidential Libraries system. Since opening on the campus of Texas A&M University in November 1997, millions of visitors have toured the museum, performed research in the archives, attended events or participated in an education program. Guests learn about the American government, history and the importance of public service and volunteerism all through the example of George Bush, 41st President of the United States.
“Wit and Humor: American Political Cartoons,” the latest exhibit at the museum, opens July 15, 2019 and runs until January 5, 2020. Using symbols, imagery and humor, cartoonists have played a special role in helping Americans make sense of an increasingly tumultuous and complex world. With installations from the Library of Congress and more, these original artworks and artifacts will show how cartoons have evolved since the earliest days of the republic. This exhibit will highlight giants in the cartoon field, such as Thomas Nast and Patrick Oliphant.
With advanced registration, groups of 20 or more receive a discounted price as well as two free tickets.
