Gundalow Company, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect the Piscataqua Region’s maritime heritage and environment through education and action, announced the First Annual Piscataqua Riverfest celebration to be held Saturday, June 1st, in partnership with Strawberry Banke.

This daylong family event combines the very best of Portsmouth’s waterfront: an around-Round Island Regatta boat race starting at Peirce Island; a traditional boat show exhibiting one-of-a-kind handcrafted wooden boats at Strawbery Banke Museum; harbor sails on the gundalow Piscataqua; an evening gala with local food; the Changing Nature exhibit at the Sheafe Warehouse; as well as maritime demonstrations for all ages.

“Portsmouth has nearly 400 years of stories and opportunities and this festival is our way of reaching everyone to help us celebrate this unique and special region,” said Rich Clyborne, Executive Director of Gundalow Company.

Admission to Piscataqua Riverfest is $15 for adults and $8 for children, with discounts available to members, military, and seniors. Partners around the region are offering special one-day discounts to Riverfest guests at museums, restaurants, and activities that also are celebrating our rivers on June 1st.

Gundalow Company is seeking potential vendors, boat show exhibitors, demonstrators, and sponsors through May 1st. Tickets to Piscataqua Riverfest are on sale now. All event information can be found online at piscataquariverfest.com, and tickets can be purchased online or in person at Gundalow Company headquarters, 60 Marcy Street, Portsmouth.

Friday – May 31st 2019 5:00pm

The Riverfest Gala is our kick-off party to celebrate our connection to the people and water of the Piscataqua Region! The evening starts with an optional champagne cruise on the Gundalow, and continues under the tent on the grounds of Strawbery Banke. We’ll celebrate with food from Gundalow Gourmet, oysters from Andy Rogers, and drinks from Liar’s Bench, LaBelle Winery and Throwback Brewery. Desserts are donated from Beach Pea, Lil’s Cafe, and Fig Tree

We are thrilled to announce our keynote speaker for the evening will be Evan Mallet from Black Trumpet restaurant in Portsmouth. Evan will join our patrons for the champagne sail and share some words with us at the Gala.
