Visit Naper Settlement for a peek into the past as history comes to life before your eyes.
The 12-acre museum is nationally accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, which means it meets the highest professional standards of museum operation and public service.
More than a museum, it is a place where the stories and people of our past come alive. It is home to 30 carefully preserved structures ranging from historic homes and working trade shops to award-winning exhibits that feature artifacts from a collection of more than 55,000 items. Museum interpreters tell the tales of days gone by and how the past relates to the present.
Naper Settlement is open for touring by groups of all types. Special discount pricing is available for groups of 20 or more. Reserve your tour at least two weeks in advance. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes – Naper Settlement’s homes and businesses are outdoors. Allow at least two hours for an optimal visit. For an additional fee, combine your group tour with a special presentation or rental of a historic building or grounds. Award-winning approved caterers provide foodservice for any occasion.
