Sable Point Lighthouse
Business Name: Sable Point Lighthouse
Long Business Description:

Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association manages and operates 4 lighthouses in West Michigan along the coast of Lake Michigan. Together with our volunteers and members we are able to offer tower climbs Tuesday – Sunday at each of our 4 lighthouses!

Big Sable Point Lighthouse is located within the Ludington State Park and is about a 2-mile hike out. There is an access road within the Pines Campground where you can start the trek out to the light. With accessibility being a large goal of ours, along with the state park we are able to offer bus days, where you can pay a small fee to ride a bus out to the light and skip the 2-mile hike. We offer bus days 6 days a season, check out our website to see when they are.

Little Sable Point Lighthouse is located in Mears, MI within Silver Lake State Park. The beach at this light is popular for swimming and spending the day at the lake! The views from the top of the light are spectacular, highlighting the beauty of the water and sand. We have a small gift shop trailer that sits near the parking lot where you purchase tickets to climb the tower, and can also browse through our many gift shop items to take a token of your trip home with you.

Ludington North Breakwater Light is located in downtown Ludington right off of Stearns beach. A lot of people enjoy walking the pier during the day to take in the uniqueness of this light. The walk out to the light is approximately .5 miles. The unique shape of this light and the 4 degree tilt it has make the climb up quite adventurous. Our other lights have steps you climb up, whereas these are ladders that you climb to the top! The view looks over the water and has a great view of boats coming in and out of the channel.

White River Light Station & Museum is located in Whitehall, MI. This lighthouse sits on the channel leading from White Lake to Lake Michigan. As you climb this tower there are rooms off of the stairs where you can find artifacts and information about the light. When you get to the top of the tower you can see Lake Michigan, which is now hidden from the ground level by a sand dune.
