Celebrate in Somervell
The rolling hills and dynamic views as you roll into the “Dinosaur Valley” is something you’d see in a Hallmark movie-and it’s right here in North Texas, just a short drive from the metroplex. The winter season brings in cooler weather which makes enjoying our outdoor activities more enjoyable than late Summer months. A very small-but tight knit community lies at the heart of Somervell county-and here-we celebrate Christmas starting Nov. 1st!
November also brings the last chance to see The Promise in Glen Rose for the 35th season; Experience the life of Christ every Friday and Saturday evening through November 4th at 7:30pm. People travel from all over the World to experience the magic of The Promise in Glen Rose, at the Texas Amphitheatre-the largest permanent amphitheater in the state. The Promise is the only outdoor production with a moat: a 45,000 gallon waterway, running the length of the structure and separating the stage from the seating area. The Texas Amphitheater stage has 40 ft. walls and arches that tower above a 4,000 sq. ft. tri-level stage. It is also the only outdoor theater in the nation with a rain curtain. The Promise is a realized dream that began in 1989. It was the dream of introducing to the world a loving, laughing, and approachable Jesus in a casual, but glorious, outdoor environment. Do not fret, if you miss the Fall season, you can always catch the Christmas production. This year, The Promise of Christmas will be held for one night only. Tickets to the free event on December 16th must be reserved online. Spend an unforgettable weekend in Glen Rose-Somervell County this Christmas season.
