When Father Edward J. Flanagan purchased the Overlook Farm west of Omaha in 1921, it became what today is the site of Boys Town. Over the decades that followed, schools, churches and homes were built on the property and Omaha grew around the famous home where tens of thousands of young lives were transformed. When you visit the​ Village ​of Boys Town, a National Historic Landmark, you’ll get an unforgettable ​glimpse ​into the history of ​an organization that has ​given ​​new hope ​​​to so many ​at-risk children for over 100 years.

Today, Boys Town, Nebraska, is home to the national headquarters and its family-style residential program. The Boys Town National Research Hospital West is located on the southern edge of the campus. Boys Town also has locations throughout the United States. As one of the largest nonprofit child and family care organizations in the country, it provides effective, compassionate treatment through services that touch the lives of more than 2 million people nationwide every year. The Boys Town National Hotline (800-448-3000) call center is also located on the home campus. Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the hotline is staffed by specially trained Boys Town counselors. It is accredited by the American Association of Suicidology (AAS).

In the Village, visitors can see where the children live, go to school and play. Trees, open spaces, statues and fountains create a picturesque, small-town setting for America’s hurting children.

Visitors are welcome at Boys Town throughout the year and tour options include a campus driving tour and a “Boys Town Visitor Tours” mobile app designed to guide you at your own pace. Popular attractions include the 1920s-era home of Father Flanagan, the Hall of History Museum, beautiful Dowd and Chambers Chapels and the “World’s Largest Ball of Stamps” located in the Visitors Center. The newest addition on campus is the state-of-the-art Boys Town Education Center, which replaced the original high school building, and now houses all Boys Town students from elementary to high school age.
