George Bush Library

George Bush Library
Business Name: George Bush Library
Long Business Description:

Follow the life of George H.W. Bush through meticulously crafted permanent exhibits that showcase his legacy. These exhibitions will take you on a journey through his early childhood and military service, through his diplomatic and political career, to his post-presidency years.

Key highlights include:

World War II exhibit: See a restored TBM Avenger, similar to the one that President Bush flew during combat. Learn about his harrowing rescue after being shot down in the Pacific. His personal letters and memorabilia make this one of the most touching and compelling areas of the museum.
Presidential Years: Dive into the challenges and accomplishments of the Bush administration, including the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War, the Gulf War, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The Oval Office: Step inside President Bush’s Oval Office, recreated as it was during his administration. It’s a favorite photo stop and a great way to experience the power and pressure of the presidency up close.

In addition to the permanent exhibitions, the museum currently features Music America: Iconic Objects From America's Music History in the Ansary Gallery of American History. The Music America exhibit—curated by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music (BSACAM) — is open through January 5, 2026 and explores America’s music history from our nation’s founding up until today. This exhibit highlights objects from legendary artists such as Johnny Cash, Sam Cooke, Chuck D, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Tupac Shakur, and more.

A second exhibit, Musical Diplomacy: Instruments from the Vault, explores President Bush’s role in sharing musical culture with the American People. The Fidelity Gallery contains 15 unique artifacts from the Bush Library & Museum collection. Each object signifies the importance of music in our world and emphasizes the notable role that the President plays in sharing our cultural heritage with a broad audience.

Adjacent to the museum you’ll find the James A. Baker, III Pavilion, a 29,000-square-foot that houses the 4141 locomotive, the Marine One helicopter, and Daisy’s Table. Conveniently located inside of the Pavilion, Daisy’s Table offers a casual dining experience.

Open year-round, The Bush Library & Museum hosts many community events that welcome all ages and interests. This Fall, the Library will present several programs to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Upcoming holiday programs include the Christmas Tree Lighting and Holidays in the Rotunda with choir performances, family crafts, and photos with Santa. These events are open to the public; check the website for dates and times. Visit Bush41.org to learn more!
